Walkup Melodia Kelly and Schoenberger lawyers and staff are actively involved in the greater Bay Area community. They donate time, effort, and financial support to worthy legal and non-legal non-profit activities.
Our lawyers and staff volunteer at facilities that feed the hungry and assist the homeless, support the San Francisco Food Bank, Bar Association of San Francisco’s Volunteer Legal Services Program, and the San Francisco and Sonoma County Legal Aid Society just to name a few.
Our firm members work on behalf of the rights of medical negligence victims through membership on the Medical Consumers Advisory Committee. A member of the firm serves on the Kaiser Independent Administrator’s Oversight Board.
In the legal community, our lawyers teach other lawyers both at home and abroad to improve the quality of justice for all people. Our partners have taught personal injury trial techniques to lawyers who represent victims of medical malpractice and health care negligence in California, New York, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Washington state. They serve on state-wide committees of the judicial council that draft the jury instructions which are given in medical cases.
On an international scale, Walkup lawyers have volunteered to teach lawyers in developing democracies including the Republic‘s of Georgia and Kosovo. Our lawyers also serve as associate faculty and adjunct faculty at prestigious law schools including the University of California’s Hastings College of Law and Boalt Hall campuses, the University of San Francisco Kendrick Hall School of Law, and Emory University School of Law.
Walkup attorneys take their responsibilities in the community seriously and work hard to make the legal system accessible and fair for all people regardless of political affiliation, income, gender, race, socio-economic standing or national origin.
