Join us in celebrating Michael A. Kelly of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger as he receives the first Golden Potato Award from the Italian American Bar Association of Northern California. This special event will take place on February 26, 2025, at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club.
The SFIABA has a long tradition of honoring its outstanding members of Italian ancestry with the “Golden Salami” and “Golden Panettone” awards. Until now no person of Irish descent had been similarly honored with an edible trophy of their own. This honor recognizes Mike’s outstanding career advocating for injury victims and his positive impact on the lives of those he has helped. Fittingly, the evening’s fare will include gnocchi.
Mike has played a pivotal role in many landmark verdicts and settlements, including the $13.5 billion PG&E wildfire resolution and multi-million-dollar Thomas fire wrongful death cases against Southern California Edison. His work in product liability and trucking safety has secured over $200 million for victims in recent years. A sought-after speaker and teacher, he has dedicated his career to mentoring the next generation of trial lawyers through his work for NITA, AAJ, Rutter Group, and Trial School.
His accomplishments have earned him countless accolades, including multiple Super Lawyers “Top Ten” honors, Best Lawyers’ “Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year” for San Francisco (2023 & 2024), and induction into both the National Trial Lawyers Hall of Fame and the LawDragon Hall of Fame.
