Bloomberg featured Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger Shareholder Matthew Davis in its recent article that details two wrongful death lawsuits filed against Tesla, alleging that defects in the Cybertruck’s door design trapped occupants inside a fiery wreck in Piedmont, California, killing three college students, including 20-year-old Jack Nelson. Davis, who represents the Nelson family, told Bloomberg: “There can be people responsible for the crash and there is a company responsible for the fact that they couldn’t get out.” The lawsuit claims Tesla’s design flaws turned a survivable collision into a fatal fire and seeks accountability for the company’s failure to ensure the Cybertruck was crashworthy.
