Amalie Yach represents clients in personal injury and civil rights matters. Her practice includes prosecuting claims for public entity liability, defective products, medical malpractice, motor vehicle collision, and first amendment matters. Amalie is committed to securing compensation for injured clients and holding negligent corporations accountable. She brings thoughtful analysis, diligent preparation, and compassion for clients to every case.
Prior to joining Walkup, Amalie gained experience in plaintiff-side civil litigation through positions with a boutique litigation firm, a legal services organization, and an externship with Justice Gordon Burns at the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District. Her work has included all stages of case development, from pre-litigation and negotiation to the appeals process.
Amalie earned her J.D. from UC Law San Francisco, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class. During law school, she competed on the UC Law San Francisco Trial Team. Her team placed in the top four nationally in the Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Trial Competition for two consecutive years. Upon graduating, Amalie received the Roger Dreyer Excellence in Trial Advocacy Award. She now coaches for the team.
Amalie is admitted to practice in all California state courts and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends.
