Since joining Walkup as an associate, Kelly has focused on representing sexual abuse victims who have suffered at the hands of teachers or other students. Kelly believes everyone has the right to feel safe and respected in their educational environment and is committed to fighting for civil rights on behalf of victims of sexual misconduct.
With a strong commitment to social justice, Kelly is particularly passionate about advocating for the rights of marginalized and underserved communities. As a proud Central California native, Kelly is highly motivated to advocate for farmworkers who developed Parkinson’s disease after extensive exposure to a toxic herbicide used as a weed killer in the fields. Walkup filed the first California lawsuit claiming the corporations involved in the manufacturing and distribution of Paraquat are responsible for contributing to the development of Parkinson’s disease.
She graduated with honors from the UC Law SF. During law school, Kelly was inducted into the Pro Bono Society for bringing free legal services to those in need in her local community. She served as a Senior Articles Editor for Hastings Law Journal and a Teacher’s Assistant for Legal Research and Writing.
Kelly is currently an adjunct professor at UC Law SF where she teaches legal research and writing. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, skiing, and appreciating all the Bay Area has to offer.
