Walkup lawyers serve the community in many ways, part II

In our previous post, we shared some of the ways in which attorneys and other staff for Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger give back by aiding the less fortunate. We focused on our support for worthwhile organizations like Walk San Francisco and the San Francisco Firefighters.

We believe that the legal system should be accessible and fair to everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status, income, race or gender.

To put this belief into action, our attorneys contribute to the Legal Aid Society of San Francisco, Equal Rights Advocates and the East Bay Community Law Center. These organizations provide badly needed legal services to the low income community. The latter organization provides service in areas like housing, education, economic development and HIV related treatment. We also provide pro bono representation through the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Walkup supports the Asian American Bar Association and the California Women’s Lawyers Association. We also work to train the next generation of lawyers by serving as faculty and mock trial coaches at Stanford Law School, Berkeley Law, the University of California Hastings College of Law and The University of San Francisco’s Kendrick Hall School of Law.

At Walkup, we believe that the legal system only works when it is available to everyone who needs it. Our pro bono work and other contributions help make that goal a reality.
